Ode to Forgetting

Ode to Forgetting is a Pandemic project. Longing to escape the isolation and long days, which inevitably led to deeper thoughts, I searched for dimensions found within.

Using Camera as microscope, I imagined light spotlighting the darkest recesses of thought.  Something like a cosmic landscapes began to emerge. I set the figments on the silence of dark space to isolate form and structure.  It is in these spaces that my mind found solace.

The materials of these landscapes are simple: discarded boxes, lush fabrics, repurposed packing textiles, the innocence and utility of craft and hardware supplies, organic tangibles and textures that stir emotional reflexes.

Ode to Forgetting is the title of sculptor Louise Bourgeois’ fabric and embroidery works exploring time and memory.
